"The Van de Perre family of Belgium has commissioned me a total of nine times over the years to paint formal portraits of Belgian dignitaries and family portraits. The painting of Roland Van de Perre's family when he was a child consists of 10 members. I worked from a small black and white photograph, and Mr. Van de Perre instructed me on the coloration of eyes and hair. He also wanted sculptures his father had created included. The painting was rendered to his exact specifications, and the result was a wonderfully unique and treasured heirloom.
It has been quite an honor to be of such service to the Van de Perre's and their associates, and it continues to be a thrill every time they stop in to visit me when they fly in from overseas.
